Quotes

I’m not really sure where it started, when it started, why it started or how it started, but it seems that I love to go looking for quotes. Perhaps it is because I read so much and that is why. The one thing that I am terrible at is compiling the quotes that I like and keeping them in an organized, central location so that they are easy to find. I have been playing with the idea of setting up a page either on the blog or the actual website where I can have my favorite quotes posted for easy access. This morning, after getting the songs together for the Praise Team, I went to Biola University’s website reading up on their progress for selecting a new president for the university. I am really hoping that Craig Hazen is selected for the position and, in fact, I started writing an email in support of him last week, but I haven’t finished praying about it and completing it - it is still in my drafts folder. While I was on Biola’s presidential search section, there was a link that looked mysterious. All it said was DBKI. So I clicked it to see where it would lead. DBKI stands for Dream Big for the Kingdom Impact and it is the future vision of what Biola wants to accomplish in the world for the Kingdom of God. On the main page that the link took me to was the following quote:

This quote sounds suspiciously like it came from a prayer, but nonetheless I thought it was a good reminder of Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians in chapter 3 of that letter:

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled ot the measure of all the fullness of God.
